If there is hair loss in your family history, then it is indeed more likely that you will experience the kind of hair loss issues that could benefit from the availability of hair loss treatments. However, family history is not the sole determining factor, as it is possible for you to experience hair loss even if other members of your family have not. Family history can therefore be used as a predictive tool, but there is no guarantee that you will have the same hair loss experience as other members of your family. Many patients who undergo treatment for hair loss have little or no family history relating to hair loss or the need for hair restoration.
