PDO threading is non-surgical and non-invasive. There is no scarring. There are no major side effects. You won't need weeks of recovery time. You can be in and out of our office in an afternoon.

PDO threading offers very few side effects. Most people mention a heavy feeling on their head, similar to the feeling you might get when you wear a thick hat. Some people experience a little pain or discomfort that can be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers.

Some individuals will see the results they desire after a single treatment. Others will need to repeat the process every six months. Speak to your clinician about whether you will need multiple treatments or whether a single treatment will suffice.

PDO threading is one of the most cost-effective hair restoration treatments that we offer. Contact us to get a quote, and ask us about 0% financing if necessary. As you start to notice your hair has grown stronger and thicker the renewed confidence in your appearance will pay for itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

PDO stands for polydioxanone. PDO threads are a synthetic monofilament suture that are inserted near your hair follicles. They constantly provide the scalp with low-level irritation similar to the irritation you'd see in a microneedling procedure, stimulating the production of collagen and keratin that causes hair to regrow. Over time, the sutures dissolve. You can think of PDO as a way to trick your scalp into loading up with oxygen, fibroblasts, nutrients, hyaluronic acid, elastin, and other natural substances that encourage your hair to grow.

Most of our clients see results within one to four sessions. While the threads can remain in place for six to eight months, we see exceptional results by replacing them every four to six months. Every client is different, so ask us for your personalized schedule.

The client must be in good health and must still have hair follicles to work with. PDO is great for hair that is thinning, going brittle, or weakening. It isn't helpful for individuals who have already lost hair in a specific area. Ask us about PDO if you are in the earliest stages of hair loss.

For the most part, PDO threads are painless. We apply a topical anestetic before we begin the work. Some clients experience a mild headache directly after the procedure, as well as some redness, swelling, and bruising that generally goes away after a day or so. Most discomfort may be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers.
